About us
50 years of web, distilled into something better.
The short version
Idun Works is a small web studio based in Sweden. We build fast, beautiful websites using our own CMS — Idun.
We're not an agency with 50 people and a ping-pong table. We're three: Tibbe, a web developer with 25 years in the game, Brett, a mean fullstack dev all the way from Järpen, Jämtland, and Buttler, an AI that never sleeps and never ships half-baked code.
Today's feature: Brett
Speaking of unlikely meetings... Tibbe and Brett first encountered each other while hanggliding, literally shouting to each other mid-air. From there, they became partners for many years, surviving rough times together in the WordPress trenches.
Brett's originally from Canada but landed in Järpen, Jämtland — which makes him practically a neighbor in Swedish terms. Like Tibbe, he's a WordPress veteran who's ready to move on and stay true to our beliefs about what web development should be.
The long version
Tibbe started building websites in the early 2000s. He contributed to WordPress core. Brett joined the journey along the way, each toggling between studies, family and spending time in the air. Bringing his fullstack expertise to every project, they've created, installed, configured, and cursed at roughly 30 different content management systems. Drupal, Joomla, Ghost, Strapi, Sanity, Contentful, Wordpress — you name it.
All systems share the same arc: start with big promises, end with lock-in, bloat, and a support ticket that goes nowhere.
So in 2024, Tibbe started building Idun with Brett's partnership — a CMS that does what site owners actually need:
Pages and blog posts with a visual editor
Contact forms that just work
A shop if you need one
Online courses if you teach
Email campaigns built in
Analytics that respect privacy
Multi-language support which creates posts
An AI assistant that helps you write
All of it toggleable. All of it fast. All of it yours.
Why "Idun"?
In Norse mythology, Idun is the goddess who tends the apples of youth — she keeps things alive and fresh. That's what a good CMS should do: keep your site alive without you having to fight it every day. Or leave as-is because it's too hard to handle.
Also, a friend's daughter is named Idun, and she sometimes helps out. So it felt right.
